Last Week for 52 Weeks Word Photo Challenge!!

Can you hear the drum rolls and trumpets playing?  I can!!.

We have had a fun year, and i do hope that you, and others, will join in next year for our Monthly Old Picture Challenge

I will post all the rules and regulations (!!!!??")  ( just an explanation for everyone really!!) during the first week of 2015, with the first word happening on the first Sunday evening in January.   It should be even more fun than this year!

ANyhow, it is now time for our last week of picturs to be shown.

I did give 5 words last week, and said please do 1 or as many as you like.  I myself, have only had time to do 2, and here they are:-

I chose "ball" as my first word:

I do have many a ball of yarn to show you here !

This mauve and pink lot I'm not sure of what I will be doing with yet, but I do think it will be something like a scarf. The yarns are silk and silk blends, so it will be lovely for a summer scarf

I have had this Schoppel Wolle Wunderklecks ball for years, I think it may become another scarf!

I'm really not sure if the S.W.W. I showed you in the precious picture, really belongs with these blues 0 mohair and cotton and silk - destined to become a feather and fan knitted scarfie thing for me! I think the grey can go though also, just doesn't fit, does it?

My next word that I chose was "past"

I am long past the day I should have posted this baby quilt now!  It is for the little great great grand daughter, of course.

It will have wide white borders with some scraps in them, and a cream binding..

This picture really does not do the colours justice, it is very bright and colourful, I'm sure Ella will love it!

And here is a close up, a little closer to the correct colours.

It was supposed to be a Christmas present, but it will be late I am afraid!  I'm still getting over all the hospital stays and struggling to get ahead with things. Hopeful;ly next year will improve.

Well, there are my pictures.  I have enjoyed seeing everyone else's, I do hope you have some more for me to look at tonight! Just sign on with Mr Linky below, and    I will be back then after Christmas.

Alan and I do wish all of you a very, Merry Christmas and we Hope you all have a Happy and Safe New Year.

Please take care.

Third word is CHIP, and here is a picture of my very favourite chips!

52 Weeks Word Photo Challenge

Hi everyone - good to see you here with your pictures, ready to upload!!

So this was our first week doing 2 pictures - did you find it alright, or was it too much? I ask only because I'm thinking of giving 3 words for next week, before the following week, which will be the last week of this challenge.  If you can follow that!!

To say again, not next week, but the week after, will be the last of our 52 week challenge for this year.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am far too busy from then on, to have to take the required photographs and continue right up until the new year.  Is everyone happy with that?

Let me know in the comments on this post, and I'll endeavour to go along with what you all would like to do.

We will start our new Monthly Challenge (for want of a better name -= leave it with me, I may come up with something yet!!) on the first Sunday evening of 2015. The rules to follow will be posted again then.

Hope everyone is happy with that.

So, back to this weeks photoes. Here are my two:-

Number 1 is my chair in our TV room. An old quilt over it, to protect it, I can raise my feet up and relax, while I madly crochet or embroider while the television is on.

Number 2 is Priscilla's toes! Covered and surrounded by long curly dirty hair, she is due for a haircut tomorrow, so they will be nicely trimmed and hairless then! This is how they look the day before - yuck!!she slides on the tiles and loses her footing everywhere, so does Tommy!

So that's me for today, I'll be back tomorrow evening with three words if you agree.

2015 Finish-Along

Well, here i s some excitement for next year!

I am going to join in with Adrianne of  On The Windy Side for her 2015 Finish-Along.

Will you join in with me?  I have done very little quilting lately, due to  hospital visits etc, so now I will have to get all the unfinished quilt tops, finally finished in 2015.

Might I say "not a moment too early", I am feeling like a regular lazy bones ,so next year this will all change, and I can get right back into doing some more work on those things that have been languishing for so long. By the way, it's not only quilting that can be included, it's knitting and crocheting    as well, so that means me!

Just click on the box on my sidebar , and read all about it.  We will be starting in January.   Let me know if you decide to join in too, we can support one another!

Have a great week and take care.

the 2 words are "chair" and "toe".

This will be an exciting week, won't it.

It's never too late to join in with us, just post your pictures on next Sunday Linky post!

I Am Home Again

It seems to me, that all I do lately, is apologize profusely to you, my friends, about the fact that I am in and out of hospital constantly!

I am home again now, and a whole lot better than I have been before! All is looking very good with the old heart, and we are just hoping now that things stay this way for a while.

But enough of that!

I must tell you that I did not actually get to take my picture of "calm", though these photographs I am about to show you do give that "calm" feeling.

I have also been around and seen your "calm" pictures, well done!

Through the past two weeks, the temperatures here have been HOT HOT HOT, and STEAMY STEAMY STEAMY, I was lucky to be in the air conditioning at the hospital!! So of course the garden has grown and flowers have bloomed madly.

Of course, as soon as I was home again I was out in the garden taking pictures of what is in flower, so here we are, a bit of an update for you all!

Here are the Hoyas, growing at the back of the Bali Hut

Couldn't resist a picture of the bat Plants, they have sprouted so big with all the heat!

The Blood Lily has only just finished flowering, and it's back again

The Dancing Lady Orchid has sprouted flowers - it grows in full sun

a close up of the dancing ladies - aren't they cute?

The Double Flowering Frangipani is about to open it's petals

The Bouganvilleas are in full bloom along the side fence

Night flowering cactus is covered in blooms, and they are as big as desert plates!

Just look at the size of the Frangipani Obtusa flower - and the smell is heavenly!

The red frangipani tree has grown and is covered in blooms

A close up of it's blooms, sweet, but not as sweet as the obtusa. You can see the Plumbago beside it here

The blue Plumbago beside the red frangipani is stunning - the colours really play well together!

The self sewn ferns on the wedding palm, the bromeliads are about to grow over them!

My beautiful white geranium, not flowering yet but the leaves are gorgeous.

I hope you enjoyed that calming trip around our garden, the plants are all my favourites!

Now, I was thinking that perhaps tomorrow night I will give two words for next week - just let me know your preference.  I would like to finish up this weekly challenge before Christmas if possible, then we can start our monthly challenge in January.

Let me know what you think

52 Weeks Word Photo Challenge

Welcome back to the weeks photo showing! It has been a very long week here - we have had temperatures from 36 to 41 degrees celcius over this past week - the hottest was today at 41 in our back garden!

41 degrees Celcius is equivalent to 105.8 Farenheit - I just looked that up for you! It's not even Summer yet!!  Goodness knows what that will bring...

So, enough of that, even though my picture relates to it :-

All activity in the garden has been cut out today, due to the incredible heat we are having.   It is impossible to venture outside, we have spent the day inside the house with the air conditioning on cool!  The poor garden is suffering - Alan has put the water sprinkler on to give everyone a drink because there has been no rain - it is supposed to arrive Tuesday, if we are lucky, until then it is dry and HOT.

So sign on below and let's see your "cut"
